摘要:The main task in the development of light-emitting layers for organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs) is to achieve a high efficiency of conversion of the electronic excitation energy to the energy of light emission, which is originated from the electron-hole recombination.
In this talk, the approaches that could be useful for design of light-emitting layers for OLEDs will be presented. The sequences of events caused by electron-hole recombination will be analyzed and perspectives of their use in OLED development will be discussed.
The following topics, which are important for the development of OLEDs, will be assessed:
•General scheme of electronic processes in light-emitting layer.
•The electronic excitation energy transfer (EEET) in polymer matrix. The role of intrinsic (including excitonic) traps.
•The problems of interpretation of EEET in polymeric media.
•Some approaches to increase the quantum yield of light-emitting layers.
•Development of single molecular white OLED (WOLED).
